Technique Tuesday: A Serene Scene

And another card from my Guest Stamp Tech gig for Technique Tuesday... this time a mono card with dashes of brown, I love brown... if you haven't noticed!!

And I totally love this alpha and was totally happy it popped up just before I finalised my order, in it went, big time!!!

I hand cut the label and popped the letter out on top of the label... then added some dimensional magic for a different texture--shine!

The label sits atop the border strip too, which is a Baseboard Technique Tile coloured up with Distress ink... considering I was going mono, the border strip is mono too, just in browns, with the brown ribbon and brown pearls.

Some texture in the background, and a little edge colour to separate the tone on tone layered panels.

Hope you like!  More to come with these letters and little Storytellers, they will be fave's I can tell you that straight away!!!

Thanks for joining in on my TT love-in!!

Technique Tuesday: All Stamping Tech Challenge

Part of my assignment with Technique Tuesday this month is to join in on the All Stamping Tech Challenge, which this month is a colour swatch... two blues and a yellow--eek!

Blue is my least favourite colour but I incorporated two shades of blue paper and a yellow paper, stamping in blue as well, so it came together that way.

I double stamped each of the flowers, cutting the top portion of the flower, adding gloss and then a very light sprinkle of glitter.... I left this to dry naturally whilst getting on with the rest of the card... must say only took a few minutes to dry in the heat we have in BrisVegas today... a nice subtle curl to the leaves as a result.

I took the stem from the Va Va Va Bloom stamp set and stamped it horizontally across the Technique Tile, added some twine and a button to finish off the embellishment band.

Some texture and corner rounding on the background paper and this was done!

You can check out what the other Stamping Techs came up with over at the TT Forum on Splitcoaststampers... enjoy!

Mischief Makers--My Brother is a Bit Retro!!

Time for another Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge... this week I used the sketch to make my brother's birthday card, and I thought it might be good to have a centre opening card, turning the distinct line on the sketch in to the opening.

I LOVE the retro nature of Off-Beat Backgrounds, and got to it with two of the backgrounds used in different directions
on each of the front panels.  I love the striking nature of the black zigs and shaped the border to the stamp pattern.  I put the circle feature together with some music in the background too.  A great set for building backgrounds, especially when your recipient is a little retro!

Enjoy this week's sketch, hope you get to play along!

Technique Tuesday: Time for another Big Fat Blossom!

I totally LOVED my Spirograph when I was a kid and bought my nephew his very own about 8 years ago, and together we left some lovely spiral impressions in my mother's kitchen table... woops!  So needless to say these little stamps called to me from afar.... it was totally fab to ink them up as part of my Technique Tuesday Guest Stamp Tech gig... you can check out the details in the TT Forum over at Splitcoaststampers.

I wanted to go all vintage pink and brown with this one and use my lotus die cut which took me AGES to acquire and a while to put to use...  the die cuts are from the patterned paper and then altered with distress inks... and then the stamping aged in the same way.

I layered the flowers and secured them with a vintage looking brad.... the Technique Tile is dressed with individual petal images from the same set to make the border strip, I like how the tiles and the stamps worked together on this card.  The sentiment tag has a partial stamp as dressing on the end as well...

Thanks for joining me for my Guest Stamp Tech spot... more cards in the coming days!

Technique Tuesday: It started with a... Tag!

Well my Guest Stamp Tech duties start officially today over at Splitcoaststampers in the Technique Tuesday Forum, you will be able to find the post in this thread that shows my 3 cards... or you can check the first submission out here today and then the others over the next few days.

For the blogaroo today I thought I would share the tags... this stamp set was at the top of my wish list, and I love the options it presents... some straight up stamping on these little ladies for today, with ink directly to patterned paper... I added my fave borderlines and in doing so incorporated some Technique Tiles... stamps and chipboard are my two favourite things so it didn't take much encouragement to make them come together here.

A couple of little sentiments, hand cut borders and a bit of sewing machine stitching to finish these off...

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like what I have to offer with my Technique Tuesday stamps this month, it was totally dreamy to get a big fat package of TT Stamps and I am having a lovely time with them!

Until tomorrow, enjoy!

Absenteeism is not my specialty...

... but at the moment it is my reality.......

I am in Sydney for a while and haven't been able to allocate any portion of the 2 hours sleep I have been getting a night for the past month to anything that involves paper... or in fact photographing the 50 cards in a "post someday" stash... so instead I am here to enable you...

Free Stampage at this post... TechniqueTuesday Forum... all you have to do is name your favourite flower!

Good luck!

I will be back on Thursday for the start of my Technique Tuesday Guest Stamp Tech posts... until then!

Mischief Makers--It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like...

This week's Waltzingmouse Sketch took me to Christmas, I couldn't hold off using a Christmas Sentiment (proper) any longer really.... and I love these stamps!

I built the centre strip from using the outer portion of one of the Label 14 stamps, just lining them up against one another free hand like... it works a treat with the rodents.

I have finally taken the lid off my sewing maching as well, yay!

The label and the centre strip is meant to be a little like a folksy tree, I see it, do you?  And the bling the baubles... which is really just a portion of a bling bracket from Zva.

Hope you get to play along this week, enjoy!!

Technique Tuesday: Tiny Treats Challenge

I made this little treat box for the current Technique Tuesday Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers... check it out here...

I used one of the labels from the Simply Stated Stamp set to trim the edges of the lid and then repeat stamped images from the same set to build the top... I wanted soft yellow and pink... so a white box was wise at the time but not good for my novice photography skills.... oh well!

This came together in a super flash and I even managed to use some of that ribbon that doesn't ever behave!!

Red Buttons

Here is a quick card with a left over frame and sentiment from some projects a while back...

Alas some red buttons, what a surprise!

And my go to rodent background stamp, I love this one but the rodent backgrounds are generally easy to use as they stretch beyond one pass of a card, so you don't have to stamp across the card multiple times, just down the card if you need more than one depth.

Mischief Makers--Blossom It Up Babe!

I have had an itching to get my vellum stash out lately and this week's Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch was the recipient... I stayed away from Christmas this time and went with a Birthday Card with a big blossom!

So the Chrysanthemum is triple stamped on red vellum and embossed in white... the vellum is deepened a little with distress inks, both on the back and front sides and then the outer edges are scrunched a little too.  The leaves are direct stamped onto patterned paper and also inked up.

The flower kinda overshines the corner element, but it is there, and is embossed with the inverted side up... I used the same for the sentiment tag, adding ink and faux stitching, with a good dose of bling to finish off.

Many possibilities with this sketch, enjoy!

Guest Stamp Tech--Technique Tuesday

Ohh Dear My Blog Posts ran out, must make time to schedule some more...

In the mean time here is a little announcement about a Guest Stamp Tech assignment I have with Technique Tuesday this month... check out this little announcement over of Splitcoaststampers...

So I will soon have a flurry of things I am making with a new order of Technique Tuesday Stamps... one of my all time fave companies, that until recently was rather difficult to get a hold of in Australia, so it is great to see them come back to the shelves over here!!

They give stamps away in the TT Forum on Splitcoaststampers too, so subscribe to that thread if you are up for some free stampage!

I did rip open my newly acquired Alpha for a very quick card on Sunday... I had all of about 13 minutes to get this together and in the envelope, so it came together pretty simply, but I love a good alpha so thought it was worth taking a quick picture to share here!

Enjoy... and I shall be back to write up a stack of blog posts on the weekend... by that time I hope to be back to normal work hours, have been working a lot of late--eewww!!

A Little Touch of Modern Vintage

Here is another of my entries for the Hope Challenges at Splitcoaststampers... this time there was a call for all things vintage... so I got stuck into some new papers and embellishments, I really like these papers for their clear embossing, all ready for ink overlays... lots of fun finding out what lies beneath!

WARNING:  This is not BLUE, rather a nice vintaged up AQUA!!

The Butterflies are cut from two different papers in the range, the bottom layer has a script embossed finish, so I inked this up too in a lighter show of ink from the base... and check out those loopy brads, I {heart} these and don't use them very often because I just like to look at them in the little segment of my container that is dedicated to loop-i-ness... but I thought they fit nicely in the notches at the end of the tickets, and I was going with the twine here anyway...  please look and take note of the selvage border... I had to hunt that bit of fabric down in a V-Large Box of fabric, but glad I did.... so a little mix of old and new on this one and a touch enough of vintage!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

A Hope Sketch

Ohh I have just finished making all of the Hope Challenges from Splitcoaststampers... it seems to have been going on for quite some time, longer than one month... all for a great cause though!

This time a sketch, so considering my year long challenge is to do more sketches, which really challenge me eek.... I have completed this one as well... albeit a card without stamping... eewww!

So plenty of texture in the paper and the embellishments, I just had to use more of this fabby paper... the real reason for no stamping is the fab little chipboard labels that I found to go with this paper, I LIKE THEM A LOT!!!

Thanks for looking!

Mischief Makers--Time to Decorate!

Well this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge is a bit tag-y, check it out! I am sure there will be many variations of use.... I transitioned the 3 tag elements into 3 separate Christmas decorations.

I kept the colour scheme simple, using the same card and ink on each decoration, so that the stamps took centre stage... and I used some of my big stash of white/cream buttons.

Each deco is 5 impressions of one stamp, cut and centre folded, with some tape to hold them together.

With the first I stacked buttons at the top and bottom of the deco and used little matching stamps in the fold of each section.  The pearls at the bottom of the strings on this one are pearls beads.

The second has the string threaded through the top and bottom whole in each of the nestie shapes.  Buttons are threaded and sit up across the fold with glue dots... the button feature continues at the bottom of the strings on this one.

The third has buttons suspended in the centre of little nestie frames... the pearls at the bottom of these strings are half pearls squeezed together.

Have fun with this sketch peeps!

A Misty Reveal

Another Hope Challenge from Splitcoaststampers this time we were encouraged to Get Glimmer Misted.  So I chose a busy piece of paper and stenciled the silhouettes with perfect pearls and water.

Nice and messy, so I liked that.  Simply stamped the sentiment on a pre-made tag which matched the paper and added the border scallop which was also a die cut from the paper pack.

Button Grid

Well here is yet another card for the Hope Challenges over at Splitcoaststampers... this time I wanted to also CASE one of my fave cards from the SU Catty... I love this button card, it is on the front cover of the Australian Catty... and I used a different stamp but went with the same layout...

Simple but contains some of my favourite things... wood mounted rubber, buttons, kraft card and brown ink!

Thanks for taking a peek!

It Popped Out

This Splitcoaststampers Hope Challenge called for use of pop dots... seriously... nearly every card of mine, he he hee!  In this case the middle sentiment is popped up over the mesh ribbon.

There is a lot of stamping in the 3 top panels, I went to town with paisley things and got totally inky... FUN!

I also managed to use one of my much hoarded scalloped card bases, need to use those more often, ME LIKE!
